Welcome to my portfolio. I have a particular love for the natural world and the creatures in it, and I work in acrylics, watercolours, ink, and gouache across realistic, illustrative, impressionist, and abstract styles.

Current projects include In the Garden, a macro series capturing the small, overlooked life in backyard spaces; and The Wedding Bouquet, textured floral works on canvas that can be personalized for weddings and special occasions.

Why is it so hard for me to finish a painting? I get to 90% and if there’s no external pressure, I just start a different painting 💀. I’ve been sitting on this cactus painting for over a month, and I just can’t bring myself to add the final details. I’ve started *checks notes* 4 new paintings since. Maybe it’s that the stakes feel too high. What if I’ve come this far just to ruin it? Maybe the dopamine just wore off. Maybe a new idea is too exciting. Does this happen to you? 😩😭

First sip of water all day. Ahhh. Refreshing. 💦 Day 12 of drawing reels that made me smile, and its @mango_the_pigeon! A rescued pigeon living in Vienna, what a cutie. I went back to watercolours and ink today, and I’m very happy with how it turned out! I made some good choices early on and I think they really leveled up this painting. Is there something you’ve mastered through persistent practice? It’s day 11 of drawing reels that made me smile, and today’s is a bit different! I saw @howie_hua a few days ago, and I was glad I stuck around for the whole video. I have no idea what this skill is, but he nailed it! Swipe through to see the original video. However, I had no idea how to draw this and capture the ✨growth✨in just one drawing, so I made six panels and went for it! This is a true mixed media piece. I sketched out each panel with pencil, did an ink outline, then coloured with a mix of gouache and acrylic markers. I was not happy with the outcome. I don’t have any PRACTICE with gouache, so my colours just wouldn’t come out nice and solid like they should be in a comic strip. It got to a point where there was no fixing it with more paint or ink, so… I scanned my drawing and coloured it in procreate! It felt a little like cheating, but the story had to be told. What do you think, did I capture the moment? I hope this inspires you to practice something you’re not very good at. Follow me for day 12.

I don’t know if digital artwork is my favourite thing. Tiny dogs are, though, and @smallest.of.the.small is no exception. How cute is that tiny little guy and his tiny little tent? Have you ever seen a moose IRL? 🫎 These two cuties posted by @karphotography brought a huge smile to my face. They were a little tricky to draw because I’m more used to drawing horses, but I think I got them in the end. Check out my page for more drawings of reels that made me smile! This was day 9 💕

Should I post myself painting in a bikini?

Day 8 of drawing reels that made me smile, and it’s a Picasso! @mrpaintinghorse seems to really enjoy creating these masterpieces, and I’m glad we have the same enrichment activity. I started this series to highlight the joyful moments we share on social media, and to combat what I’d call “one big Instagram MLM based on courses on how to sell courses”. Don’t you think they’re getting a bit out of hand? Follow for day 9!

Day 7 of drawing reels that made me smile! I may be biased because my own dog is a chihuahua, but this video from @the.chihuahuas.clan brought me a lot of joy. I was going to do a long voiceover to explain why I started this series, but I’m not feeling my best today. And what’s the point of being an artist if you have to record long voiceovers when you have a tummy ache? Come back for day 8! All the previous drawings are on my page. 💕
